screwed over, need help
I moved out of my apartment three weeks ago for a sublet to move in tomorrow. Today, my landlord calls me and says, “I think there may have been a misunderstanding.” I email the sublet, and he tells me that all the landlord said after his credit check was, “you’re good to go.” Apparently he didn’t understand that that meant “you can move in,” so he found another place. He wasn’t planning on telling me because he thought I was “already outta there.”
Misunderstandings happen, but come on people. I take responsibility for my part — I had insisted on a deposit, but forgot to collect it. Anyway, I need some help from everyone in finding a new sublet ASAP. Here is a copy of the CL post:
I need to sublet my room ASAP! The rent is $800/mo, but I will subsidize your first month because I need someone to move in right away!
The apartment has a very large living room and a beautiful kitchen. The room itself has a nice closet, built-in bookshelves, and is stylishly painted. It comes with the parking spot!
There are two roommates. The girl is here for about one week out of every month. The other has the master suite with his own bathroom.
Location is great for UCLA or SMC. We are very close to the Big Blue Bus stop, and there is a nice park at the end of our block.
